Can Positive Affirmations Get Rid of Frown Lines?

I noticed the other day as I was taking off my makeup for the night that I’m getting frown lines! Me? I’m always smiling. Well, actually, I used to always smile when I worked outside the home, and had contact with other people. Now I’m mostly just sitting at the computer working away in silence – not too much to smile about. But other than using an efficient anti-aging cream, how do I combat these lines?

The one thing I’ve decided to do is to go to bed with a smile on my face. This is easy to do because most of the time, instead of watching TV at night I do a Brainwave Entrainment CD. Meditation is proven to help you relax, so this gets me a little out of frown mode!

Then, right after I go to bed I lay there and say my self help affirmations. These aren’t anything I’ve bought and repeat to myself hoping they will work. I really don’t think a “canned” list of affirmations work very well because they don’t come from the heart. And, even though I’ve used some of the suggestions made by others, I have adapted them to what I feel, and what I believe will come to be.

I have a few belief affirmations that have to do with believing in being divinely guided; and that “I will always be in the right place at the right time.” Then I have the ones that have to do with being successful and happy. It’s at this time that I begin to smile – thinking about just how it will feel when I achieve these goals. I end my affirmations with a smile on my face.

Now, this may or may not help my frown lines, I really don’t care. But that smile makes me feel good as I go to sleep; it also helps me clear my mind for the day. And actually, by the time I’m done with the affirmations, I’m asleep! I never have a problem sleeping, and I never have a problem smiling!

One other thought before I leave you. Do you think that if you go to bed smiling you will wake up in a bad mood? Now, I’m not going to say you will just lay there and smile all night, but something does happen when you go to sleep in a good mood. I can’t put my fingers on it just yet, but I’m happy to just share this with you and hope you make it a practice in your night.

Here’s to SMILE Lines, NOT Frown Lines!

Do Your Daily Affirmations Make You Yawn?

daily affirmationsHow you feel when you lay down at night and start to say your daily affirmations. Is it a good feeling or do you just say them methodically like you were running through a list?. And how does your brain react? When I first started doing affirmations, I did them in the morning; I had a list that I read through, and every morning before I started work I read through the list. But for some reason when I got to about the third point I started to yawn. And unfortunately, as I continued to read – I continued to yawn.

I don’t know what the real reason is for this. But I didn’t want to stop reading the affirmations and after a while, as they became clearer in my mind and I began to believe them more, I didn’t yawn as much – in fact most days I didn’t yawn at all. The fact is, the more successful I became the less I yawned when I did my affirmations.

Now, even if I do my affirmations while lying in bed, I don’t yawn anymore. In fact, as I do the daily affirmations, I smile, get myself in a good mood, visualize myself having what I’m affirming, and basically just get in a more positive mood to believe that what I’m saying is actually a possibility.

Now you may be thinking that I go through a 10 min. affirmation list and that’s what makes me tired, but that’s not the case. My daily affirmation list is a list of ten items. And now that I’m smiling and going through them with a higher energy level, they not only make me feel good about what I’m doing – they are also starting to come true.

I guess what I’m trying to tell you, is that when you do your affirmations, don’t just read through a list. Read them with energy! In fact one of the other things I used to do, is to jump up and down a few times and really get my mind moving and my blood flowing before I did the affirmations. It helped me get into a state of mind where my energy was high, my excitement was high, and when I was done, I was ready to get to work.

So really think about what’s going on in your head when you’re doing your daily affirmations. Don’t just read through your list every day in a boring attempt to make your dreams come true. You need to believe and feel every word that you read, and soon you’ll see that the more you believe the more things happen!

Developing Intuition in Seven Simple Steps

Have you had that experience when all of a sudden you just had this huge hunch that something is about to happen, and to your surprise, that intuition was eventually translated to reality? If you’ve been developing intuition, you know that that’s the point when you feel strongly about something but have no idea why. It comes in three impressions: clairvoyance or “the third eye,” sensing clearly and feeling through listening.

Clairvoyance is when your eye goes beyond what it can see. This is when you know what is happening somewhere.

Sensing clearly is basically what we refer to as “hunch” or “gut feeling.” This is the time when you are overwhelmed with a feeling and you can’t explain it and all you can say is “I just know.”

On the other hand, feeling through listening or clairaudience is being able to “listen” between the lines. Intuition also happens at times when a certain sound, whatever it is – be it a car’s honk or a bird’s twitting – ushers in an intense feeling.

They say only a number of people are gifted with intuition. Astrologers even insist that people born under the Scorpio or Pisces signs are naturally intuitive it almost borders on E.S.P. But studies have been sprouting left and right that proclaim that anyone can get good at developing intuition. My sign is Aries and I’ve always had good powers of intuition.

Why the need to develop intuition, you ask?

Why not leave your emotional and psychological state as it is?

First and foremost, intuition promotes good communication. It makes you more sensitive to the people around you; it often keeps you from hurting those you love because you are intuitive enough to understand them. Intuition also makes you far more creative than ever. Intuition means releasing more creative juices for any means of expression. Lastly, intuition has a healing power. This healing power is not in the physical sense, but in delving deep into your soul to eradicate some negative energy buried in it.

With that being said, are you ready to develop your intuition? Here are some ways to unlock this gift:

Hypnosis

Don’t be scared; try hypnosis! Hypnosis is not limited to watching a pendulum move back and forth. Perform self-hypnosis or get a few hypnotic programs that can strengthen your intuition.

Meditation

There are a few different types of meditation. One is manifesting meditation to help you get what you want, the other is meditating to find peace in yourself. If your mind and heart are cluttered with too much baggage and pain, you will not be able to quiet down that part of you that could eventually initiate intuition. There are so many ways to meditate: take a yoga class, or just simply practice some breathing that could bring you straight to Zen.

Think positive!

A worry-free, fear-free state could do so much to improve your intuitive ability. By staying positive, you attract good energy that would be able to easily recognize imminent feelings and events.

Just let go.

What does this mean? If you are on the brink of making a huge decision, let go of all the inhibitions and head to a quiet place where you could find out where the letting go has brought you. Sometimes you just have to listen to the voice within you, and that voice wouldn’t come out unless you let go. It’s the same as when you practice Directed Dreaming to get information from your subconscious. You have to be relaxed and willing to let thoughts just come to you.

Never expect.

After letting go of the inhibitions and all those things that stop you from thinking and feeling clearly, never expect for an answer right away. Never expect that the “hunch” will fall on your lap immediately. Give it a little time and then prepare to get surprised that — wham! — now you have your answer.

Believe in your first impressions.

When you see someone for the first time and think that he is a bit too arrogant for your taste, chances are that impression actually holds true. Most of the time, first impressions are brought by intuition.

Stay happy!

See? All you need to be intuitive is to stay happy! Happiness attracts immense power and such power includes intuition. In tapping your intuition, your motivation must be happiness and contentment. Given that premise, intuition will fall to you easily.

Intuition is helpful, because sometimes it leads you to something that cannot be achieved otherwise. A lot of lives have been saved by intuition alone. Decisions are easier done if armed by this gift. Develop intuition now and reap benefits you have never imagined.

Meditation Techniques from Aliens?

meditation techniquesIt’s no secret; the Law of Attraction has been around for some time. And so have manifestation ideas and meditation techniques. So I had to look twice when the headline of this site said:

“Who Else Wants To Discover The Alien Technology That Turned A Poor Homeless Boy Into A Millionaire Practically Overnight…”

I had to read further – alien technology? Never heard of that before! Well, actually, my husband loves the History Channel and we watch it quite a bit. It appears that throughout history people (Hitler was mentioned) may have been helped by aliens who gave him special technology. Tesla and his team with the Philadelphia Experiment have also been mentioned.

But what this guy was actually reading was “underground” conspiracy theory forums that claimed an advanced alien race gave us technology that would help the mind not only evolve but also speed up the process of manifesting desires. Similar to the Law of Attraction…only FASTER.

Of course, people who don’t understand the mind and how it works in relation to meditation techniques have to make something up in order to make themselves feel comfortable that it is indeed possible to manifest a better life by working with brain waves. I think they should USE these techniques and stop being so pitiful that they need to elaborate uncontrollably in order to add excitement to their lives.

Now, it’s true that there are meditation techniques that can enhance your life. The best system I know of is Brainwave Entrainment, and it’s based on sound scientific research and physics!

Brain Entrainment actually synchronizes your brain and gets all of the daily stress back on track so you can think straight again. Your brain will “synchronize its dominant EEG frequency with the frequency of the external frequency you give it.” This helps you relax, think clearer, and begin to manifest things without daily thoughts and stress getting in your way.

Unfortunately, what happens if you’re trying to manifest things by just thinking about them (like being wealthier, or happier, etc.), is that it might work, but probably will not.

It’s not enough to just wake up in the morning and read your affirmations and start your day out in a positive frame of mind. You’ll get to your job, sit down in your chair, sigh and maybe think about how much you hate it there. By the time you’re done drinking your coffee, that positive attitude may be gone and it’s not easy to get it back!

It’s an entirely different story if you have aligned your brainwaves before you go to bed. It’s not as easy for them to become rearranged in just one day. So if you really want to make some important, life changes in your world give your mind some help in lining up your thoughts with a Brainwave Entrainment system.

Here’s a link to the one I mention above – with mention of the alien technology:

Easy Self Help to Improve Your Brain

When spring approaches it’s almost impossible to think about doing self help to improve your brain, and in the summer, it’s even harder. But you don’t really need to stop; you just need to meld a few things into your daily routine. It should be painless and easy to do.

For starters, maybe you like to take short walks in the summer, like I do. It’s good exercise and gets me the fresh air I need. And, while I do have time for a walk, I don’t seem to have time to relax and fit in my subliminal tapes; or at least, I didn’t think I had time.

But the other night when I was doing my Brain Entrainment CD instead of watching boring TV, I thought of something. With brain entrainment you should be lying down and relaxing because of the complex things that are going on in the background of the tapes at a variety of levels. But I could probably do a weight loss hypnosis tape while I walked, or even a subliminal self help tape to improve my brain (and so could you!).

If you think a lot while your walk or exercise, it just seems like the logical thing to do in a time-sensitive life. And since you are trying to relax – using a weight loss hypnosis CD should kill two birds with one stone, as they say.

Think about what else you do that doesn’t take much thought. Then use that time to slip in some self help to improve your brain. CD players are so small these days that it’s not hard to hook one up, stick it in your pants, put on your headphones and get a little self help exercise on the side!

Old Fashioned vs. New Meditation Techniques — Which Works Best?

As I lay in bed this morning mediating the “old fashioned” way, I begin to think about all the self help options we have with today’s technology to help our brain focus. Now, by old fashioned meditation techniques I just mean that once I woke up, I just laid there for a few moments to see what came to mind.

Sometimes I use my first five minutes to help me remember my dreams, and sometimes I just try not to think of anything and see what comes to mind first. There’s also another meditation technique that I like where you ask a simple question of yourself and then try NOT to think of answer. For example, I might ask myself (or my subconscious as it is) what I should start out doing today that will be the most successful. Then I just stare at the ceiling and wait for the answer.

Once I get it, I’m off and running for a successful, productive day. When you use meditation techniques to get your day started off right, you will be on the right track all day!

Some people find it a little harder to come up with answers by staring at the ceiling, and for those, I would recommend using some kind of brain quieting help – like brain entrainment (Brain Ev is my favorite), or subliminal message CD’s focusing on what problem you’re trying to solve (i.e. weight loss, panic attacks, win friends and influence people, etc). These take a little longer since they are usually about a half hour long, so you’ll have to make the effort to wake up a little earlier in the morning. I also find them successful if I use them at night before I go to bed.

The two things to keep in mind when you use meditation techniques are:

  1. What do you want to find out? If you’re looking for an answer to a specific question, you’ll want to ask yourself that question before you start any sort of meditation technique. (You can find out the secret to life, or just where you put that darn cell phone!) If you’re hoping to solve a problem, you need to state the problem, and then ask for a resolution.
  2. You can also use self help meditation techniques to just relax. Once you’re relaxed, something helpful will be revealed to you. It’s best to use brainwave entrainment, or relaxing music, to help you get your mind off of the day’s stress. Once your brain gets past the stress, it can help you figure out what’s wrong, and what the solution is.

The reason I’m so passionate about brainwave entrainment, vs. the old fashioned way is that it actually works on your brain at a variety of different levels. It has the ability to “re-arrange” things, so to speak, to help you become not only more relaxed, but smarter as you move through everyday functions – at work and at play. I can’t really explain this, I just know it works.

There isn’t really one best answer to the self help question about meditation techniques. It depends on how much time you have, and how willing you are to make a few changes. You can spend about a half an hour a day doing something that’s good for you, with results that will last a lifetime; or use the old fashioned meditation technique and just calm your mind in the morning to get a head start on the day. Either way, you will be better off than if you didn’t do anything.

Neuroscience Proves Benefits of Meditation Include Brain Enhancement

It seems like scientist are always working on one thing or another. I always wanted to be a psychiatrist so I could dig deep into how the brain works. Instead I became a writer so I could dig deep into how the brain works. Hum. I recently read an article about the new studies that are being done on the benefits of meditation. Neuroscientists are trying to determine if you can strengthen the brain just like you can strengthen any other muscle in the body – with exercise.

In this case, brain exercise comes in the form of meditation, and the research is being done by a new field called “contemplative neuroscience.”

I have always believed that the benefits of meditation included strengthening the brain, and again, just as when we strengthen any other part of our body (including strengthening the eyes with glasses), the mind will work better when exercised; meditation seems to one of the things the brain responds to.

It all needs more research, which is why the benefits of meditation in relation to brain activity is receiving funding from the National Institutes of Health. In the meantime, I’m going to keep “exercising” using my Brain Entrainment System as well as adding some NLP to the mix. As I get older, I want my mind to be as strong as possible, and if it’s simple meditation that can do it – I’m all for it!
