Brainwave EntrainmentEveryone in the self help world has more than likely heard of some type of subconscious or subliminal programming technique. In the beginning there were tapes that played loud music in the background while someone whispered positive affirmations that were just barely audible. These never worked very well for me because that whisssss pering sound drove me nuts! There’s really no way to hide the “s” sounds when you’re whispering!

Actually, you can whisper positive affirmations to yourself daily and it would probably do the same thing. I am a firm believer in affirmations and usually do them right away in the morning when I get up, and again just before I go to sleep at night. My daytime ones are more like a cosmic ordering session, while the night time ones more resemble prayers and also a thank you for what has been received.

If you only ask for more things and never give thanks you will not get that sense of accomplishment that makes you feel proud at having achieved something.

I think Isochronic tones may have been developed next; they were probably the stepping stone for brainwave entrainment systems. But Isochronic tones in themselves are also not that helpful because they are beats of a SINGLE tone. And while it may be possible to slow our brain down to concentrate on this tone for a while; brainwaves are very dynamic and they very quickly get bored of a listening to something so simple.

Today subliminal programming has advanced to include higher level brainwave entrainment techniques. I have tried the Brain Ev program and I must say that it does work. It not only helps me relax, but also calms my brain down enough so when I do start to think again I get ideas that make good sense! Using Positive Self Talk To Remain Sane

positive self talkDo you talk to yourself? If you do, are you aware of what you’re saying? Many people who work alone (or at home) have a tendency to talk to themselves about mundane things. Or they’ll be mumbling away when they’re shopping or out just walking around. But this isn’t what you need to be aware of. What’s more important is your personal self talk — and whether you’re practicing positive self talk or not aware of negative self talk habits.

It’s sometimes hard to get away from negative self talk. As soon as you put that first negative thought into your head, your brain takes it and believes it is true. Then it begins to build on itself and pretty soon that one thought is running out of control on its own.

For example, remember when you first started that new job that you had been waiting for forever? You were probably just so happy to finally be accepted for your talents and what you have to offer. That feeling can last forever – or you can ruin it in short order by events that happen and how you think about them.

In your new job you will meet people. Some of them will recognize your work and accomplishments and complement you on them. Others will be so jealous that they will try to put you down in an attempt to get more of their own complements. At this point, you may start negative self talk about these people or worse yet, about your new job that you used to love so well.

When this happens, the positive self talk you previously had about your new job is slowly replaced by negative self talk. This self talk will eventually completely destroy your happiness and ability to do your work in a productive manner. You begin to hate going to work in the morning; seeing certain people, etc.; misery sets in.

But it doesn’t need to happen this. When you work at positive self talk techniques, the negative self talk never gets in. Now I’m not saying that this is easy to do. Many times you are not even aware that you are self talking. Things are just going around in your mind unconsciously as you work through your day.

This is where positive self talk tapes can come in handy. There are certain positive self talk statements that will recover your self esteem. If your brain waves are really out of whack because of your constant negative mental statements, you may need to re-align your brain waves using brainwave synchronization techniques (which usually come in the form of Brainwave Entrainment CD’s.)

The main thing is to become aware of what you’re saying to yourself, and replace those negative statements with positive self talk.

Meditation Techniques from Aliens?

meditation techniquesIt’s no secret; the Law of Attraction has been around for some time. And so have manifestation ideas and meditation techniques. So I had to look twice when the headline of this site said:

“Who Else Wants To Discover The Alien Technology That Turned A Poor Homeless Boy Into A Millionaire Practically Overnight…”

I had to read further – alien technology? Never heard of that before! Well, actually, my husband loves the History Channel and we watch it quite a bit. It appears that throughout history people (Hitler was mentioned) may have been helped by aliens who gave him special technology. Tesla and his team with the Philadelphia Experiment have also been mentioned.

But what this guy was actually reading was “underground” conspiracy theory forums that claimed an advanced alien race gave us technology that would help the mind not only evolve but also speed up the process of manifesting desires. Similar to the Law of Attraction…only FASTER.

Of course, people who don’t understand the mind and how it works in relation to meditation techniques have to make something up in order to make themselves feel comfortable that it is indeed possible to manifest a better life by working with brain waves. I think they should USE these techniques and stop being so pitiful that they need to elaborate uncontrollably in order to add excitement to their lives.

Easy Self Help to Improve Your Brain

When spring approaches it’s almost impossible to think about doing self help to improve your brain, and in the summer, it’s even harder. But you don’t really need to stop; you just need to meld a few things into your daily routine. It should be painless and easy to do.

For starters, maybe you like to take short walks in the summer, like I do. It’s good exercise and gets me the fresh air I need. And, while I do have time for a walk, I don’t seem to have time to relax and fit in my subliminal tapes; or at least, I didn’t think I had time.

But the other night when I was doing my Brain Entrainment CD instead of watching boring TV, I thought of something. With brain entrainment you should be lying down and relaxing because of the complex things that are going on in the background of the tapes at a variety of levels. But I could probably do a weight loss hypnosis tape while I walked, or even a subliminal self help tape to improve my brain (and so could you!).

If you think a lot while your walk or exercise, it just seems like the logical thing to do in a time-sensitive life. And since you are trying to relax – using a weight loss hypnosis CD should kill two birds with one stone, as they say.

Old Fashioned vs. New Meditation Techniques — Which Works Best?

As I lay in bed this morning mediating the “old fashioned” way, I begin to think about all the self help options we have with today’s technology to help our brain focus. Now, by old fashioned meditation techniques I just mean that once I woke up, I just laid there for a few moments to see what came to mind.

Sometimes I use my first five minutes to help me remember my dreams, and sometimes I just try not to think of anything and see what comes to mind first. There’s also another meditation technique that I like where you ask a simple question of yourself and then try NOT to think of answer. For example, I might ask myself (or my subconscious as it is) what I should start out doing today that will be the most successful. Then I just stare at the ceiling and wait for the answer.

Once I get it, I’m off and running for a successful, productive day. When you use meditation techniques to get your day started off right, you will be on the right track all day!

Some people find it a little harder to come up with answers by staring at the ceiling, and for those, I would recommend using some kind of brain quieting help – like brain entrainment (Brain Ev is my favorite), or subliminal message CD’s focusing on what problem you’re trying to solve (i.e. weight loss, panic attacks, win friends and influence people, etc). These take a little longer since they are usually about a half hour long, so you’ll have to make the effort to wake up a little earlier in the morning. I also find them successful if I use them at night before I go to bed.

The two things to keep in mind when you use meditation techniques are:

  1. What do you want to find out? If you’re looking for an answer to a specific question, you’ll want to ask yourself that question before you start any sort of meditation technique. (You can find out the secret to life, or just where you put that darn cell phone!) If you’re hoping to solve a problem, you need to state the problem, and then ask for a resolution.
  2. You can also use self help meditation techniques to just relax. Once you’re relaxed, something helpful will be revealed to you. It’s best to use brainwave entrainment, or relaxing music, to help you get your mind off of the day’s stress. Once your brain gets past the stress, it can help you figure out what’s wrong, and what the solution is.

    The reason I’m so passionate about brainwave entrainment, vs. the old fashioned way is that it actually works on your brain at a variety of different levels. It has the ability to “re-arrange” things, so to speak, to help you become not only more relaxed, but smarter as you move through everyday functions – at work and at play. I can’t really explain this, I just know it works.

There isn’t really one best answer to the self help question about meditation techniques. It depends on how much time you have, and how willing you are to make a few changes. You can spend about a half an hour a day doing something that’s good for you, with results that will last a lifetime; or use the old fashioned meditation technique and just calm your mind in the morning to get a head start on the day. Either way, you will be better off than if you didn’t do anything.

Before brainwave entrainment came into being, many people used Binaural Beats for mind improvement. You listen to both with headphones, and many times the sounds are of water running (like a stream), or bells ringing, so what’s the difference between the two?

“Entrainment” basically means that two systems oscillating at different frequencies independently are brought together. They synchronize with one another, at whatever the combined system’s resonant frequency is.
