Self-hypnosis for Your Own Peace of Mind

August 21st, 2008

Self Hypnosis techniquesHow many times has this happened to you?  Your boss ends the day with the stack of papers you’ve been waiting for all day and new instructions that your  report is due in the next 42 hours.

Your significant other wont answer your calls; your mother sends you guilt-tripping messages; your landlady ignores you when you tell her a part of your ceiling is leaking; you feel a throbbing pain in your temples; while your credit card bills take over even in your dreams.

Hopefully, this hasn’t happened to many times, but when it does, take it easy for just a minute!

First, take a deep breath, close your eyes and try to unravel your thoughts.

Sometimes, taking control over a chaotic life, a stressful situation, a physical ailment or an emotional dilemma starts within you – your mind, your subconscious, specifically.

And communicating with your subconscious - negotiating with your own self - CAN be achieved through self-hypnosis.

How to do it?

Here’s a sample basic procedure.

1. Find a venue conducive for relaxation: a quite room, with the temperature comfortable and the lights just right (not too dim, not too bright). Light a candle and incense if you desire.

2. Surround your place with sound pleasant to your ears. Play relaxing music. Bring in a portable fountain. Hang some chimes where the breeze blows. The sound of music is soothing.

3. Find a comfortable position. Surround yourself with pillows, blankets, and the like. A caring, healing sensation eases stress.

4. Tell yourself: “I am light, I am comfortable, I am at ease. All my tensions, worries and anxieties are gone. I am light, I am comfortable, I am at ease.” Repeat many times while breathing deeply.

5. Picture what you want your life to be. Visualize every detail, every situation that you want to happen. Imagine it so as if it is really happening.

6. Repeat no. 4. Breathe in and out, and imagine yourself being surrounded by a bright, luminous light starting from your forehead until it fills the room.

7. Wake up when you’re ready.

Repeat this procedure regularly. This exercise helps you clear your thoughts. It may lead you to self-revelations that would help you assess the situation on how you live your dreams.

It may or may not work, your goal may or may not be achieved – the universe has reasons humans may not fathom.

Some people even have a hard time listening to themselves!  If this is the case, get yourself a good hypnosis tape and let someone else tell you what to do.  Many people will take instructions from others in this area, but will not listen to themselves.

The other nice thing about a hypnosis tape is that you will know exactly how long it will take you; you won’t have to worry about falling asleep and not waking up – because the hypnotist will bring you out of the trance when you’re relaxed and refreshed.

The important thing is this: self-hypnosis will help you become a better person – calmer, more attuned to yourself, and more willing to help others.

With your tensions and worries away, who knows what you can do!

Managing Time Effectively Increases Success

July 31st, 2008

time_management.jpgIt has been said more than once that time is the most powerful currency of the 21st century.  But unfortunately, this powerful currency demands much of our attention. Most people waste a lot of time and never make use of this remarkable resource we have – our time.

Here are some tips to help you make the most of your time every single day:

First - Get rid of unproductive routine tasks: Yes, this includes getting up each morning and checking your email. Do not start your day on somebody else’s agenda. Get out there, take some time to focus on the goals for the day and then start working on them. Do routine tasks during slow times of the day. For example, check your emails right after lunch.

Now - Break down large tasks into smaller ones: We all know the feeling of staring at a new complicated project feeling overwhelmed and wishing we were anywhere but here. But, even complicated tasks are not impossible to handle. In fact, most tasks become unbelievably trivial once we break them down into small pieces. Get into the habit of breaking down your tasks into small ones and tackling each individual part one at a time. This will help you stay calm as well as it will help you accomplish your goals without the urge to procrastinate.

Look at your habits to see if they could be changed, maybe you could do certain things different ways and save yourself some time in the process.

Most Importantly - Evaluate yourself to determine if you are a morning person or night person and organize tasks to use whatever time suits you best.

I am usually the most productive later at night or, if I’ve gotten enough sleep, between 7:00 and 8:00am.  After 10 am I tend to wind down, and that is exactly why I work on my most important goals during my most awake hours. 2 hours of focused work is far more valuable than 10 hours of unfocused work.

Learn to say “no”: One of the biggest secrets of success is leadership. You need to be able to become a leader and say NO when someone asks you for a favor that can take considerable amount of highly productive time from you.

Be very cautious - always - about where and how you spend your time. Time is the most precious resource you have and you need to stop wasting it and start treating it like gold.

Learn how you can take control of your time and use it to achieve your goals!

Best Goals to Have In the Pursuit of Success

June 23rd, 2008

persistance1.gifFirst of all, I want to say that I’m sorry I haven’t posted for a few weeks. I made my yearly trip to South Dakota to visit my Mom, siblings, and new babies to the family, and just about got blown to Kansas! The weather sure is strange this year. It still hasn’t warmed up in Seattle.

I thought it might be a good time for an article on persistence, since some of us (including me) tend to  forget our goals when the sun comes out and we just want to play. . .

But remember when you were a child and wanted to do something, go somewhere or own something? Did you just ask your parents once for permission or to buy what you wanted? Of course, you didnt. You were persistent. You asked as many times it took to get what you wanted.

Your every thought was directed at getting that one thing …and the sooner the better!  Succeeding in anything requires that kind of unrelenting persistence. It doesnt matter what the goal is….business, sports, your love life….persistence is what makes it happen.

The dictionary defines persistent as… “Refusing to give up or let go; persevering obstinately.”

Being really persistent requires developing a kind of tunnel vision so that our entire focus is on the goal and we can see nothing but finding the way of achieving that goal.

Unfortunately, when striving to reach any goal there will always be challenges awaiting,  hurdles to be jumped, or, even the occasional unavoidable detour.

Much like a roadmap that shows us the way to get from point A to point B, our best laid plans wont show us all the holes in the road, or obstacles along the way.

However, the only way to lose when attempting that goal, even if you have a good plan, is to stop working toward it or to return to square one and start on something else.

Persistence assures your arrival at your desired goal.

Persistence is fueled by passion. Its always a good idea to check just how committed and passionate we are from time to time. If that passion needs to be rekindled so that we can stay persistent in pursuing our goals we need to throw some fuel on the fire.

If in the past you have failed to achieve your goals, that means you probably didn’t know all five facts of success or haven’t applied this information into your life. Right now you have the possibility to have an upper hand for a new start as you learn these 5 facts of success!

Go for it!

Seven Simple Anger Management Techniques

May 21st, 2008

anger-management.jpgExperiencing anger is extremely dangerous to your health. It causes your adrenaline and blood pressure to rise up at above normal levels. Moreover, you could end up hurting someone or doing something that you will regret later on. Here are 7 fantastic anger management tips to help you be the one in control of yourself, and not the hazardous madman called “Anger.”

1) Relax and visualize.

Calm yourself down. Take a deep breath. As you exhale, imagine all those bottled-up fury come out of your nose and mouth. Release it and be free. Repeat this step over and over until you feel peace inside.

Then visualize being in a place where you feel most happy, calm, and relaxed. It may be a place like a beach, garden, scenic locations, or anywhere else you might think of. Just imagine being there and inhaling the essence of your serene environment. By doing this, you will not find it hard to attain inner peace.

2) Pour out your anger to safe outlets.

You had a big quarrel with your former friend. He betrayed your trust. You want vengeance and you’re raving mad.

Hold it. Restrain yourself.

Try your best to get away from him as far as you can. You don’t want to hurt anyone. Anger can possess your brain into doing something that you wouldn’t dare do before.

How do you then release your anger if you can’t restrict it anymore?

Buy a punching bag, then pour out all your rage in it. Punch it, kick it, strangle it. Imagine the punching bag is your enemy. When you’re done, you will feel a sense of satisfaction. You may even punch and kick through thin air if you desire.

Another anger management technique is to “SHOUT!” Find a distant place where you can be alone - a place where no one can hear you. At the top of your voice, yell out loud “Aaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrgggggghhhhhhh.” You can choose any word you like as long as you release all those angry demons out of your chest.

3) Forgive and forget.

Nothing could ease your mental and emotional pains better than by forgiving someone that has hurt you in the past. It is very unhealthy to burden yourself with unnecessary torture brought about by unpleasant memories of other people’s demeaning acts.

Moreover, if they have taken something important away from you, would it make sense to also sacrifice your health and lifestyle? Of course not.

4) Exercise.

Engaging in exercises increases your endorphins. Your angry mood could miraculously change to a happy one if you get involved in exercises that you enjoy doing.

5) Have a circle of “sponge” friends.

Do you feel relieved when you voice out all your problems to close friends and relatives? That’s the power of voicing out your inner feelings.

Always have someone to talk to when you’re down, when you’re depressed, when you’re mad, or in any other occasion when you feel you have to get the thorns out of your chest.  It’s also a good anger management technique because your friend can help you calm down, and find a possible resolution to your situation.

6) Listen to soothing music.

It calms your soul. A 20 minute session of listening to relaxing music while resting comfortably could soothe the upset spirit. Take deep breaths often.

7) Pray.

Deadly consequences arise when people could not hold back their fury. Ask for guidance that you will be able to control your temper. Prayers bring inner peace to those who ask for it.

There you have it - 7 essential anger management techniques to release yourself from the treacherous killer known as “Anger.” Manage your anger, save your life.

Advanced Cosmic Ordering, Get What You Want NOW!

May 21st, 2008

cosmic_ordering.jpgI was watching a TV show last night called “Medium.” If you’ve never seen it, its about a woman who gets her psychic powers through her dreams. In a nutshell, her dreams show her crimes in advance so she can prevent them from happening.

Well, tonight she was helping a deaf girl, and the Medium actually went deaf herself! It really made me think about the things we take for granted every day.

I’m a very intuitive person. Around people I just instinctively know what a person needs. I don’t try to do it. It just happens. They don’t have to say a thing, but when I ask a question about it, I usually already know the answer and am on my way to help.

The main clue in accessing your intuition is to pay attention to peoples body language and your surroundings. You’ll get a lot of clues, and can act on them, or not.

That’s being intuitive on a personal level. But have you heard about the level of intuition called Cosmic Ordering? Its really not so much intuition, as much as it is about paying attention to what YOU really want, and how to get what you want by ordering it from the Universe.

Are you happy with your current job? No, then why are you doing it? You can change it quickly with cosmic ordering.

Are you content with your life? Yes, then GREAT! You have already figured out how to use Cosmic Ordering to get what you want out of life.

There is NO reason that everyone shouldn’t have what they want in life. All it takes is a few changes in your belief system, and its yours.

If you haven’t tried cosmic ordering, nows the best time.

To your Happiness and Success!

Persuasion Techniques - Make People Listen to You!

May 1st, 2008

persuasion_techniques.jpgNobody listens to me!  Sorry, I have to vent to someone, and since many people have this same problem, I thought I’d start with you. You see, I have GREAT intuition, but I can’t get people to listen to me.  It seems that I have NO persuasion abilities at all!  They either argue with me or just shrug me off – like I don’t know what I’m talking about!

I can warn them that if they don’t do this, an accident will happen.  And, when they don’t listen, and the accident happens, I just feel like saying:

I TOLD YOU SO!

But I’m a nice person, so I don’t do the “Told You So” thing – much.  But I still can’t understand it.

Why do people always listen to some people (who may or may not be right), and not to others, who are right about 95% of the time?

I won’t vent for long, but here’s another example:  I’m a writer for a well-known on-line training company.  One day, after I came back from a seminar, I noticed that their blog was loading very slowly.

I told my boss(s) that the blog post that was put up while I was gone was probably the problem.  He didn’t believe me.  He spent hours troubleshooting the blog, then he got the technicians on it.  He paid a lot of money, and wasted a lot of time.

FINALLY, I figured I’d try some friendly persuasion.

I wrote down all the reasons that the post I mentioned was the problem:  It was put up in my absence; the problem wasn’t happening before that post was put up, etc. etc. etc.

It took me half an hour to write up all the proof points – then it took them five minutes to remove the post – and guess what?  Everything worked fine after that!

People will even argue with me about todays date – I actually have to get out a calendar to prove I’m right!

That’s just a few examples; it’s getting so frustrating, so I decided that I needed help if I was actually going to HELP other people with my intuitive nature.

But I don’t have hundreds of dollars to spend on counseling, so first I picked up this persuasion book.  WOW!  What a difference!

This eBook teaches the Power of Persuasion from a few different angles.  I found out that I needed the last one the most. However, since I’m married, I don’t really need to seduce attractive strangers – but that would have come in handy in the past!  Becoming more successful with groups of people is one I’m going to start using more often.  Here are a few things you’ll learn:

  • Become super-successful in sales and/or marketing.
  • Improve your personal relationships.
  • Spark new relationships with wonderful people.
  • Manage your employees more effectively and get the big promotion.
  • Help charitable organizations raise funds and get government grants.
  • Inspire your children to grow up to be a credit to the human race.
  • Inspire whole groups to become better people.
  • Become famous as a top-notch motivational speaker.
  • Have lots of fun seducing attractive strangers.
  • Protect yourself from being manipulated by others.

It’s your choice really, you can keep getting ignored, or you can FINALLY make people listen and OBEY!  I know I’m much happier now, and so are the people who are taking my advice!

Get your eBook today, and by the end of the weekend, you’ll have the Keys To Power Persuasion.

Thanks for listening  ;-)

Make Your Life List FUN!

April 16th, 2008

Life ListI’ve been reading a lot lately about people making Life Lists.  I have to admit, I’m a little out of touch with this concept.

I’ve always believed in goals, in fact I have a small list of goals that I read every morning before I start my day; it helps me keep on track. But goals seem to be more like work things.  Like, what I want to accomplish in my job, when I want to retire, etc.

Boring!. . .

But now I’ve made a Life List, and you should too.  A Life List consists of things you really want to do someday.  Not necessarily before you die, but just things you have a burning desire to accomplish.

They are FUN things, like travel the world, stay in 5-Star Hotels, maybe take a ride into space someday, things like that.

There’s one important thing to do when you start making your life list, and that is to NOT think about how you will accomplish it.

Don’t think of the cost, or the time involved.  Just start writing until you come up with a bunch of things you want to do someday, then boil it down to the most important (to you) 20 things.  If you can’t pick 20, just keep them all!

Keep these things in mind, and soon you will find yourself having a lot more FUN in life!

If you’re ready for some magic in your life, the Next 100 Days Will Change Your Life So Much That You’ll Swear You’ve Been Put Under A Spell!”

The Most Important Choice You Will Ever Make

March 24th, 2008

wallofchina.jpgAs Robert Burns said, “The best laid plans of mice and men often go awry”. Yes, they do! Even if you have made a terrific, well-thought-out and detailed plan of how you will get from point A to point B in your life, obstacles appear than goals.

You are well on your way to getting everything you want and suddenly, out of no where, this huge brick wall is blocking your path. What to do?

You basically have four choices. You can….

1. Quit. This is the easiest of all the choices. Just throw up your hands and walk away. After all, maybe where you wanted to go wasn’t all that important anyway. Was it?

2. Wait….maybe the wall will just crumble into dust. Then you wont have to worry about it and can proceed with your journey. Well…maybe…but brick walls don’t crumble very easily and they tend to last an awfully long time.

3. Move the wall. Good luck. Walls aren’t easily moved. Trying to move a brick wall will sap your strength….and after you have given it all you’ve got, the wall will still be there.

4. Go around the wall. That might work…unless the wall is as long as the Great Wall of China. It might be a long trip.

Wait…did I say four choices?

Actually there are five choices.

Number five is FIND ANOTHER WAY to Reach Your Goal. When you started going toward your goal, you attempted to anticipate the obstacles and roadblocks you would meet along the way, and plan accordingly.

When you run into an unexpected brick wall, step back and focus on the essence of your goal. Get creative. Look for high ground and access the landscape. There may be an even better road to your goal that you’ve overlooked, and if you can find it you’ll have the wall to thank!

If you have problems being creative or thinking outside the box, there’s probably a Hypnosis tape that will help you get where you want to go.

Surprising Ways To Increase Psychic Accuracy

March 6th, 2008

Personal_PowerThis article by Alan Tutt can teach us a lot about how to access our inner psychic abilities with accuracy.  It’s amazing how just looking at things from a different perspective can retrain our minds to think differently, and finally be able to “see the light!”

——————

One of the faults that I find with many “professional” psychics is this, they are horribly inaccurate!

They say things like “There’s something about the month of May for you, right?” or “I get a name like ‘Dan’ or ‘Dave’ or something with a ‘D’, do you know who that is?” or even “I see a small child around you, this could mean that you are going to have a child, or someone you know is going to have a child, or maybe they already do have a child, or maybe it means that you are going to start a new project.”  Come on now, that could mean anything.  And if it could mean anything, it really means nothing!

One reason that people accept these kinds of statements is that psychic perception has a very vague, mysterious quality about it.  Very few people really know how psychic perceptions work.

This was true about electricity for many years, and may even be true today although everyone I know personally has a good understanding of it.  Another reason many people accept vague psychic readings is simply because they want to believe whatever they want to believe.  For instance, the statement above about the small child.  Someone may secretly be wanting to start a new project, so they will take the statement as confirmation that they should start the project.

There are other reasons that vague, unmeaningful statements end up being accepted.  Personally, I’ve never accepted these kinds of statements, and I don’t see any reason that anyone else should accept them either.

There’s a book called “The Keys To Power,” that enables anyone to increase their psychic accuracy to the point where these kind of excuses aren’t necessary.  There are a few techniques which allow you to increase your accuracy of perception to the point where you can give exact details.

There are actually several exercises and techniques which will do this for you.  Here are a few:

First of all, you will need to increase your perceptive abilities on the physical level.  If you can accurately describe a physical object, then you will increase your abilities to accurately describe your perceptions on the psychic level.  This is the first exercise in the Keys To Power Mastery System, which shows how important accurate perceptions are to the system.

You can measure the degree of your physical perceptive ability (and your ability to describe those perceptions) by writing down everything you can about an object.  If you start with a simple object, like a fork or a pencil, you won’t have to fill a whole book describing the object.  With a simple object, you should be able to fill a couple of pages of written notes about it, however.  At least 50 to 100 different details about the object.  A more complex object like a flower, or a piece of fruit, will give you enough details to fill a couple dozen pages minimum!

The next most important aspect of developing accuracy in psychic perceptions is your connection to that level of reality.  The psychic level of reality has several different names depending on what tradition you come from.  Some call it the astral level, others call it the spiritual level, and the term etheric level is also used.  In Tthe Keys To Power, the psychic level and the astral level are generally associated together, but since terminology is irrelevant, you can call it whatever you want.  The important thing is to tap into it and be able to perceive what’s there.

And this can be the tricky part to anyone unfamiliar with such things.  Part of the secret is to have an active imagination.  Have you ever noticed that most psychics are those with highly active imaginations?  True, there are some who don’t seem to fit this category, but not many.  Besides, maybe these psychics are simply keeping their imaginations to themselves.  I know that I’ve had a lot of bad experiences sharing my creativity, and consequently have kept it to myself for the most part.  Unleashing creativity is the focus of the second lesson in the Keys To Power Mastery System.

One of the best ways to expand your creative vision is to simply take two items and try to imagine how one item can become more like the second, or how one can perform the functions of the other without changing shape, or even how the two objects can be combined into a single item.  Spending several sessions working with this kind of exercise will open up your creativity immensely!

Another method of expanding creativity is to do things that would normally be considered backwards or stupid.  This is a technique used by many shamanistic cultures.

Spend a day walking backwards.  Put salt in your coffee and sugar on your food.  Wear your underwear on the outside of your clothes.  Say goodbye when meeting someone and hello when leaving.  Lay on the floor with your feet in a chair.

Create your own language and use it for a day, speaking in no other language.  If they don’t cart you off to the funny farm, you’ll gain a new perspective on the world.  To a degree, this was one of the basic messages in the movie “Dead Poet’s Society”, to learn to see life in a new way, refuse to stay in the box, and live the way you want to live.

Now, take this new creative potential and imagine what the psychic level is like.  Pretend that you see ghosts, pretend that you feel the Force, and pretend that you know everything.  The more you pretend that you are perceiving the psychic reality, the more you communicate to your inner mind that you want to become conscious of these sensory channels.  In truth, we all perceive the psychic realities as a matter of course, but we have programmed our inner mind to reject most of the information we get from these perceptions.  Therefore, we must change that programming in order to activate our conscious psychic awareness.

These exercises alone will stimulate your psychic abilities like nothing else will.

And the more open you are to the impressions you receive psychically, the more accurately you will be able to describe what you are perceiving, especially when you’ve practiced accurate descriptions on the physical level.

NEW Virtual World For Relaxation And Meditation

February 11th, 2008

stress1.jpgI’ve been under a lot of stress lately, which has forced me to do a lot of research on Meditation and stress relief.

I won’t whine around and tell you all of my problems, but I will relay some of my findings – and I’ll try to keep it short.

It appears that stress has a worse effect on our bodies then even I suspected.  It’s sort of like a domino effect.   Something makes you stressed, then things start to happen. If you don’t find a way to stop the stress, suddenly there could be lots of anger, and worse yet, illness.

The anger could come and go, but the illness may not!  You see, stress causes damaging cells to replicate at a faster rate than normal.  So, for example if a person is trying to fight off a cold, stress will make the cold worse, and it could keep getting worse.

The bodies natural immune system cannot counter the effects of stress on it’s own.  Have you ever tried to sleep while your under great stress? It’s almost impossible!  And, that causes another problem, tiredness and lack of energy.

I’m sorry that this post seems to be full of doom and gloom, but the reality is, there is a VERY simple way to relieve stress, or at least keep it at bay.

My research revealed that the best stress relief comes from 15 minutes of Meditation – three times a day. You will be amazed at how powerful just this little bit of relaxation is for you.

And, now to give you help when you need it most, there’s MediHeaven.

MediHeaven is a revolutionary new Web 3.0 virtual world for relaxation and meditation – For me, it’s like having a Secret Garden in my house.

It’s more personalized than most meditation I’ve done.  I feel so peaceful when I’m finished, there just isn’t anything better!  And all it takes is 15 minutes.

Upon arrival in MediHeaven, you interact with the MIND COACH, who asks simple questions about the way you feel and the things you want.  You are then guided on a uniquely satisfying experience of imagination. Every visit to MediHeaven is special, with different stories, music and narratives to excite the imagination.

Stay Motivated With 3 Success Steps

January 24th, 2008

motivation4.jpgGetting and staying motivated is the key to success in any human endeavor. Everybody wants to succeed but wanting to succeed and actually succeeding are two very different things.

William A. Ward said this: “Recipe for success: Study while others are sleeping; work while others are loafing; prepare while others are playing; and dream while others are wishing.”

We are guided by powerful helping hands when we commit ourselves to success, and follow its laws.

Success begins by requiring that we keep our minds focused on our desired outcome, not our limitations. Mr. Ward also said, “If you can imagine it, you can achieve it; if you can dream it, you can become it.” I’m sure you’ve heard that before, but do you follow it?

Here are three things NOT to do if you want to stay motivated:

Don’t set yourself up for failure
If you think that you can jump from the starting line to the finish line in a single bound, you will be disappointed. Agree with yourself that it is going to take a lot of small steps to get to where you want to be.

Don’t skip the basics
You have to do your homework and lay a good solid foundation in order to achieve success. You must decide what you want, commit to it, and then start building your own doors to knock on.

Commitment holds power, and moves you to take the actions necessary to reach your goals and objectives.

Don’t overlook the obvious
Reach for help when and where you can. Read and learn. Books wake us up and provide necessary inspiration, motivation, and education.

They nourish and fire up our potential. Then it is up to us to put that knowledge into action, and develop discipline and skills.

Good books work… if we work!

Meditation Does NOT Make You Stupid!

January 15th, 2008

I read an interesting article the other day on Meditation, and the fears that some people have with the practice.  It sounds like some people think that meditation is “emptying” the mind and they are afraid that if they try it, they will wake up, well – mindless!

This is definitely not true.  Both Mediation and Hypnosis give the brain the opportunity to slow down for a moment and sort out the important things from the junk that gets trapped in the mind.  When there’s too much junk in your mind, you will do strange things without thinking.

For example, at an extremely stressful time in my life I tried to lock my front door with my car remote control!  I also filed paper and things in the freezer, where they had no business being.

Now, at the time, there was so much going on in my conscious mind that it just shut down, and my subconscious took over.  Well, the subconscious has no clue about reality, it’s supposed to be working in the background sorting out days gone by, and capturing information to be used later.

The subconscious really has NO common sense at all!  And, I’m sure that you have had a similar experience, where you go through a time of day, and you don’t remember a thing.

That’s why it’s important to meditate.  You can meditate the old fashioned way, by focusing on your breathing and just going to a quiet place in your mind for about 20 minutes, or you can use Hypnosis tapes to help you clear your mind faster.

Hypnosis tapes tend to work better for me because I’m very good at taking orders.  So, if the person talking on the tape tells me to do something (like relax, and think about a wonderful blue sparkling running stream), I’m there immediately!

Just do whatever method works for you on a consistent basis, even if it’s only for 5 or 10 minutes a day.  Every little bit helps.

And, if you have a lot of New Years Resolutions to take care, definitely try a hypnosis tape or two.  You’ll find everything from losing weight to stopping smoking, and from obtaining financial abundance to enhancing your dreams and intuition,  so you can better access the subconscious while sleeping (thats an excellent way to better use your sleep time!).

So try it this year.  What can it hurt?  It’s not like you have to go to the fitness center to do it – which, by the way, was practically empty when I was there today – and it’s only January 16th!

New Years Resolution - How’s it Working Out For You?

January 3rd, 2008

nyres2.jpgAs your self-help guru, I thought it was time to check in and see if you have your New Years’ Resolution list made out yet.  How does it look?  Is it about the same as last year:

  • I will lose weight
  • I will stop smoking
  • I will make more money this year
  • Blah, blah, blah blah

At this point, I feel compelled to use the words of Dr. Phil and say, - how’s that working out for you?

If your resolutions are the same from year to year, and you still haven’t reached your goals, it’s time to try something different – Just GO FOR THE GUSTO for once!  And stop this silly resolution crap!

OK, I’ll get off my New Years Resolution bandwagon and give you some hints on what you should be doing.  And, as the year goes on, I’ll keep giving you hints until you actually reach your goals.

What I mean by Go for the Gusto is to stop making lists and start just doing different things to see what might work for you.  Maybe get a new hairstyle, or join a Toastmasters club to get better at Public Speaking – or just speaking in general.

I joined at the last job I was in, and at first it was a little daunting, but then, I noticed that I was getting more complements every time I spoke.  If I had never put away my fears for once, I never would have known how good I actually was!

Some other things you can do:

If you hate your current job, start by revising your resume.  And, don’t just put down the same ole stuff.  Put down the things that you have done that are important to the job you WANT to have.

Once you start writing everything down, you might just discover what you really want to do.

Make a few simple life changes for starters.  If your marriage now seems more like a roommate situation, start cuddling more and doing more romantic things.  Vow to make it like New Love again.

Don’t just resolve to lose weight. Resolve to eat more greens or take a half hour walk a day.

Another simple but important step you can take is to stop and breathe each day.  Yes, simply breathe! Start at 5 minutes a day and breath slowly, pretend that your breath is coming into your nose, and making a circular path through your diaphragm and back out, letting ALL the air out each time.  Do this until you work up to about 30 breaths.

You probably won’t believe it, but just breathing deeply can help you feel less stressed.  It somehow activates the relaxation response.

OK, I could go on and on, and I will, but I know that your reading time is limited, so stay tuned to this newsletter this year.  I’ll have more information on Dreaming, Lucid Dreaming, Hypnosis and other  information that will help you make the best of the year.

Remember, no more resolutions!  Take baby steps until you feel like the person you’ve always wanted to be!

Happy New Year!

Effective Strategies for Leadership Success

December 14th, 2007

We have probably all met people who were natural born leaders. You know the ones. They are who a group turns to when something needs to be accomplished.

They can see the problem, the solution to it, and have a full grown plan for getting the task done immediately (my husband is kind of like that!)

However, all of us are not blessed with that ability or natural leadership skills. We can, however, learn leadership strategies that work.

Here are a few tips that will help you develop good leadership strategies that will help to solve the problem at hand and get tasks accomplished:

  • Get your priorities straight:
Take a good look at what needs to be done and the order that tasks need to be performed to achieve the desired outcome. In other words, make a plan.
  • Choose the right person to do each task:
This requires that you get to know the people on your team. You need to evaluate their strengths and weaknesses so that the person best suited to doing a job is the one you assign to it.

I said earlier that my husband was a born leader, however, I’m a writer. He can give verbal commands, but he lacks in the writing area.  Leaders need to know the strengths and weaknesses of their team in order to be successful.

  • Schedule a time for completion of tasks. As you know, Rome was not built in a day!  Dont try to push impossible deadlines - people will work better if they know when a task actually needs to be finished. And, Don’t try to fool them with early deadlines, just in case.  This might work once, but could backfire in future cases.
  • Motivate your team. Use whatever you have at hand…(ex. competition with other teams, pride in performance, hope of advancement, etc.) Get your team to perform at the top of their game.
  • Reward good work or a job well done. A few words of praise go a long way. People like to have their work recognized as being valuable.

A “completion party” is a great way to reward a team when a job is finished satisfactorily. If you are in a position to give monetary rewards, dont hesitate to do so.

Be a good leader, and you will never have to worry about people following you!

—–

P.S. If you’re not a leader, but would like to be you can change your abilities by optimizing your mind!

Happy Turkey Day!

November 23rd, 2007

famfeast.jpgTo all my self-help blog readers:  I just wanted to check in quick and wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving Holiday.  I was too busy cooking a giant turkey for the family yesterday to log in, but I didn’t want to forget you all.

This is the Holiday I enjoy the most because it’s all about giving thanks for what you have, and spending some quality time with the family.

Then it falls apart.  Today’s the day they call Black Friday.  It’s one of the biggest shopping days of the season.  In fact, at one of the malls here in Seattle, there were 60 thousand people shopping at midnight (the time the stores opened for the day).

Needless to say, I wasn’t one of them!

I don’t go out shopping much, and when I do, I pick the off days, like the SUNDAY after Thanksgiving – there’s hardly anyone out there then – they’re all home sleeping, like I am today.

I also do a lot of shopping online.  This season, there are a lot of companies that have finally realized that they can sell more if they offer free shipping, or other discounts.  It works for me because while my husband’s family are all close to us, most of my family is now all over the place - I can send a Gift Basket, a Personalized Gift or even a Stupid Gift and be done in no time.  All from the comfort of my favorite place – my computer!

Anyway, enough of that.  Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
